5th Region Annual Spring Meeting
It is my pleasure to inform you that this year’s 5th Region Annual Spring Meeting will be held from April 19 – 22, 2012. This year’s meeting will be hosted by the Fort Riley – Central Kansas Chapter, and its President, LTC (Ret.) Art DeGroat. LTG (Ret.) Roger Thompson, AUSA Vice President for Membership and Meetings, will be in attendance from AUSA National.
The theme for this year’s meeting is “A Glimpse of Your Warfighting Army.” In addition to the AUSA business that will be conducted, delegates and guests will have the opportunity to interact with the soldiers and families of Ft. Riley and learn about various aspects of their lives, including:
Roles and missions of a warfighting division Military and battlefield health care, including caring for Wounded Warriors On-post recreation for soldiers Military housing Daily life of an Army family Role of senior Non-Commissioned Officers in leading today’s soldiers Regional impact of a military presence.The meeting will be held at the Junction City Courtyard by Marriott. For those flying, the Manhattan, Kansas Regional Airport offers easy accessibility with flights through American Airlines and car rental through Avis.
