Goals
OUR GOALS
2007-2008 The General Vessey Chapter of AUSA will continue to:
*Be the advocate and voice for the American soldier and his family
*Be the activist and campaigner of the military serviceman to foster public support in the local and surrounding communities, from our civic leaders (local, city and state), social organizations, and our local employers
*Be the linkage and association for the American soldier to civic leaders, local employers, charities, and other organizations that support our military service men and women
Chapter Programs:
*Continue sponsorship and support of toys4Military Kids; increase scope of involvement and donations
*Sponsor and support local Army National Guard and USAR unit mobilization, deployment, redeployment and reintegration activities of soldiers and families (welcome home celebrations and deployment ceremonies)
*Continue support and sponsorship of Wounded Warrior program by visitation to Veterans Administration Hospitals and Veterans Homes (providing fleece blankets and company)
*Sponsorship of chapter booth at Army Ten Miler and funding to support two sub chapter teams
*Organize plan and execute world class 50th Anniversary celebration for our chapter
*Continue support of Non-Commissioned Officer Recognition by sponsoring NCO of the Year appreciation event
Membership:
Our goal is to increase our current membership of 865 by sustaining our corporate membership growth and increasing our Reserves Forces and subchapter membership. Goals for membership:
General membership by 10% (952 members)
Corporate membership by 10% (53 corporate memberships)
Sub- chapter membership by 25% (75 total Sub –chapter members)
*Strengthen our National Guard, Department of Army Civilian, Retired Military Member, and Cadet Membership through sponsorship and focused membership drives
Subchapter Involvement:
*Increase Subchapters involvement, support and promotion (Army 10 Miler Team Sponsorship)
*Increase subchapter membership
Local Community Involvement:
The Vessey Chapter is made up entirely of volunteers. We provide support, membership benefits, recreational, educational and employment opportunities to Soldiers and their families through our corporate and sustaining membership. Most importantly, we support our deployed Soldiers and families left behind.
*Maintain and enhance our partnership with the Defense Alliance of Minnesota
*Support and partner with the Midwest Center for Defense Sustainment (Minnesota Center of Excellence Initiative)
*Endorse and support local and national Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) efforts and representation of Army National Guard and USAR soldier
*Increase volunteerism of Chapter through multi sources of volunteer recruitment focusing on all represented demographics and by increasing Cadet and National Guard membership involvement.
