AUSA’s Toys4Military Kids Program support military families during the Holiday Season by supplying gifts to children of military families at their annual holiday party as well as providing extra support to military families in need. This was made possible with the generous donation from local businesses and individuals in our community.
The program was founded by Les Hanson over 7 years ago. With Mr. Hanson’s dedicated effort as our fundraising Guru, we were able to reach out to 38 military units by funding their holiday parties and impacting over 2000 children of military families in 2010. We support units and families throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. The program has brought smiles and happiness to our military families here at home and touching those overseas as well. This is to show our appreciation for all they have sacrificed for our every day freedom.

5 individual families in need and impacted over 1000 families overall.
This is 20% less than 2009. The need was greater and we were unable to support 8 parties and over 1200 children in 2010. Lets change that!
How can you help? Here are some ideas:
Join us Thursday Oct 20 5PM at Gabes on the Park for an informational session on Toys and how you can become a Unit Party Leader.
Unit Event
On average a unit party costs $1000, depending on number of kids. As units apply for grant money, a determination is made on how much Toys4MilitaryKids will support. Our goal has always been at least $15/per child.
Become a Unit Party Leader
We estimate a need for 15 Unit Party Leader Volunteers. As a liaison for a Unit, this volunteer will coordinate in planning a Holiday Party.
Host a Toys Drive
Hold a Toys Drive in your office. We will supply the details of ages and gender of the children for ease of shopping. A collection box could be set up at your company.
Casual Day
Do you have casual Day at the office? Consider offering it once a week for a month for a $1 donation each day.
Skip Lunch Day
An adult easily spends $15 at lunch per day. Consider skipping one day and the $15 you would have spent would buy a child a toy.
College Credit
Do you know a college student looking for credit? Check with your college to see if by Volunteering for the Toys Program will fulfill college credit.
