Youth ages 13 to 18 from Laketrails Basecamp in Lake of the Woods, MN. 35 youth who have a parent serving, will be serving, or has recently served in Iraq, Afghanistan or Kosovo can attend this $710 adventure camp for $50. The remainder of the fee is covered by a scholarship as Laketrails Board honors the commitment that military families make to their country.
Participants spend 9 days at camp, the highlight of which is a 6 day canoe trip into the Canadian wilderness. The youth will first plan their trip itinerary, learn wilderness camping skills, then depart into the Canadian wilderness where they will spend a week paddling, portaging, fishing, relaxing, making new friends, and exploring the bays and islands of Lake of the Woods.

Patriot Express Loan Program
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is taking steps to increase awareness of its new Patriot Express Loan program. Patriot Express is designed specifically for veterans, reservists, members of the National Guard, and their spouses, who want to start or expand a small business.
Since its launch six months ago, the program produced more than 670 SBA-guaranteed loans with an average loan amount of nearly $101,000. The initiative builds upon the counseling assistance and procurement support the SBA provides each year to more than 100,000 veterans, service-disabled veterans and Reserve members. UNITED MILITARY FARES
United Airlines is offering discounted military fares for domestic travel, at least through the end of the year. Sale fares are sometimes cheaper, but military fares are less restrictive, requiring just a one-night minimum stay and no advance purchase.
Fares are generally comparable to reduced economy fares: For example, a San Diego/Boston round-trip military fare runs about $340, including taxes – about half the price of the last-minute walk-up fare. The fares are available to active-duty military, their spouses and dependent children; ID proving that status is required.
